Justin Adams is the founder and head of the Venturing Business within BP Alternative Energy. In this role he is responsible for investing in early and growth stage cleantech businesses aligned with key business objectives. He serves on the Board of a number of the companies within the venture portfolio.

Clara is a power sector specialist with more than 15 years of experience in the Banking sector. Clara is based in London where she is heading the Structured Finance – Power operations of ING in London.

Bryan brings to Suniva nearly 30 years of hi-tech marketing, business development and sales experience leading and working in companies ranging from IBM to his own successful consulting start-up in the early 1990s. As Chief Marketing Officer, Bryan leads the Suniva Marketing and Business Development Team throughout the U.S. and worldwide.

Jaz Bains has been with RES for the last 8 years where he is responsible for sourcing, negotiating and closing both corporate and non recourse project finance facilities. He was responsible for closing the 260MWAstraeus cross boarded wind portfolio financing facility and currently the largest non recourse wind farm facility in Sweden, the 96MW Havsnas project which is co-owned with HG Capital.

Allan has been involved in financing in the power sector for more than 20 years, initially as an engineer and then in finance sector. During his career he has advised on and financed projects in Europe, the US and Asia, and in sectors ranging from green-field renewable energy to acquisition of large power portfolios.

 

Joost Bergsma founded BNP Fortis Clean Energy in mid 2008 whilst working at Fortis Investments now owned by BNP Paribas. In 2009, the Fortis Clean Energy Fund raised in excess of Euro 200m from a number of professional investors.

Adam Bruce is the current Chairman of the trade association, RenewableUK. He is the former UK Chief Executive of Airtricity. He was appointed Head of Sustainable Development at Scottish & Southern Energy following its acquisition of Airtricity, and was elected BWEA Chairman in April 2007.

Damian specialises in the energy and infrastructure sectors, with a particular focus on renewable power. He has completed a wide range of deals at Terra Firma, including the sale of Waste Recycling Group, the spin-out and development of the Infinis renewable energy business, the acquisitions by Infinis of Summerleaze Re-Gen and Novera Plc, the refinancing of Phoenix Natural Gas and the acquisition of EverPower, the US wind energy business.

Juan Diego Diaz is Business Intelligence Director of Gamesa. Previously, he was Chief Technology Officer at Gamesa Energy, where he was responsible for the activities of wind resource analysis, wind farms engineering, construction, O&M, quality, environmental issues, and health and safety across 18 countries.

Currently CEO of EDF Energy Renewables (a Joint venture EDF Energy/EDF Energies Nouvelles) since July 2008. EDF ER is dedicated to the development and responsible for the delivery of EDF Group renewable objective in the UK to increase net equivalent wind capacity to between 800-1000 MW in the next 5 years, with current construction of onshore windfarm (currently 56.5 MW under construction) and offshore windfarm (project Teesside, North East, 62 MW, to be built in 2010).

Tim joined Statkraft in January 2010 in the capacity of Head of Renewable Origination with responsibility for Statkraft’s power purchase activities within the United Kingdom, covering both the renewable energy projects developed by Statkraft and those developed by independent generators.

Magnus is head of environmental technology at Hermes GPE. Hermes GPE is a leader in private equity investment and portfolio management and is the manager of the Hermes GPE Environmental Innovation Fund, a GBP 125m fund focused on environmental private equity funds and co-investments.

Rob Hastings is The Crown Estate’s Director of the Marine Estate. His career has included working in the Offshore Oil and Gas industry, followed by six years developing and managing projects and businesses in the UK wind energy industry, including as a director of Shell Wind Energy Limited and a Director of the British Wind Energy Association.

Dieter Helm is an economist specialising in utilities, infrastructure, regulation and the environment, and concentrates on the energy, water and transport sectors in Britain and Europe. He is Professor of Energy Policy at the University of Oxford and a Fellow of New College, Oxford.

Per Holmgaard has worked almost all his professional career in the Danish Power Industry. He has worked as project engineer, project manager, Power Station manager and Production Manager in the Danish Power sector, dealing with many types of Power Plants and a broad range of fuels from coal, orimulsion, natural gas to wood pellets and straw.

Christopher Hunt has nearly 20 years experience in renewable/alternative energy, gas and power. Through the course of his career, he has developed, constructed, financed and/or operated renewable and conventional energy businesses in over 25 countries involving more than 30 GWs of power capacity.

Jamie Kiggen is a Senior Managing Director at The Blackstone Group and Chief Investment Officer of Blackstone Cleantech Venture Partners. Before joining Blackstone in 2008, Jamie was at AllianceBernstein, where he founded the venture capital group and oversaw all of the firm's venture investments, including A123Systems, Pacific Biosciences and Pure Digital.

Matthew Knight is Business Development Manager for Siemens Transmission and Distribution Ltd. Matthew led Siemens entry into the market for offshore grid connections, winning the first three UK Round 2 projects. Previously Matthew was Operations Manager and established a team to design and build onshore grid substations.

Benjamin Kott joined Google in November 2006, and since January 2008 has worked as Manager on the Green Business and Operations Strategy team (Green BizOps).

Roy is an experienced entrepreneur with a track record of managing a fast-growing technology business. In 1997, Roy founded Infonic Ltd, an internet research software and services company, which serves numerous multinational clients. As Managing Director of Infonic, he raised venture capital financing from Herald Ventures, developed and then sold the company to Corpora plc, a UK publicly listed company, where he was appointed as Group Strategy Director. Following university, Roy joined Goldman Sachs International where he worked for several years.

Since completing graduate and postgraduate studies in Chemistry at Heriot-Watt and Hamburg Universities, Keith joined SSE in 1994 following a career in Germany and Scotland working in Research & Development and Business Management.

Tom Murley heads the renewable energy team at HgCapital and is responsible for HgCapital Renewable Power Partners, a €300m fund for European renewable power projects.  The team consists of seven investment professionals and has made investments in ten wind farms, four biogas facilities and four project developers.

Alex O'Cinneide was appointed in Jan 2007 to manage the Masdar Clean Tech Fund (ADFEC) and to represent the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company to the partnership. Previous to joining Masdar he was a Managing Partner in Quorum European Partners, an energy technology focused venture capital firm. He started his career in two VC backed technology companies before going on to join KPMG where he was a director in the Strategy and Private Equity Advisory group (London & New York).

Martin is the Mayoral Advisor on the Environment responsible for policy development in Energy & Climate Change, Adaptation, Water, Air Quality and Waste. He is also Director of Environment & Capital Projects at the LDA where he is responsible for the delivery of the Regeneration and Climate Change projects.

Alan co-founded Vantage Point Venture Partners in 1996 and serves as CEO and Chair of the Investment Committee. As a leading venture investor for over 20 years, Salzman has had hands-on involvement in more than 300 companies and has held overall management responsibilities for a dozen venture funds with over $5 billion of committed capital.

Danny Shaw has over 20 years experience within the Gas and Electricity sector with current responsibility for the origination and development of E.ON’s portfolio of on-shore and off-shore wind farms in the UK.

Siobhan is the Global Sector Head for Renewable Energy within the  Resources and Energy Group. Siobhan’s mandate at HSBC is to expand the highly successful renewable franchise for the bank and provide a global point of contact for our core energy clients across HSBC’s geographic footprint.

As CFO, Stonehill led the company’s $350 million Series B financing round, one of the largest cleantech investments to date. He has over 30 years experience in investment banking and capital markets.

Clémentine joined Dexia in 2008 after more than 10 years with TOTAL, the French oil & gas company. Her experience is mostly focused on M&A and project finance in all parts of the world including Middle East, China, Algeria, France, Italy, Spain, the UK, the Netherlands, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico.

Markus is managing director with RBVC and based in Frankfurt. He is responsible for RBVC's commercial fund and direct investment strategy, its commercial operations, as well as reporting into Bosch group management.

Tellef was the fourth to join Northzone as a co-founder in 1996, and he has been instrumental in the fund raising and building of Northzone Ventures to a leading Nordic venture capital firm.
Tellef co-ordinates the activities in Northzone's offices, as well as being active with Northzone's new investments and portfolio companies. Tellef was instrumental in the foundation of the Norwegian Venture Capital Association and acted as its first Chairman. He has also served as Director of both EVCA and the Swedish Venture Capital Associations.

Paddy Turnbull joined GE Energy in early 2010 as part of the European Leadership team for the Digital Energy Business. The Digital Energy business provides integrated smart grid solutions and reliable power delivery systems to electric utilities as well as the oil & gas, critical infrastructure and industrial sectors.

Based in our Zurich office, Charles Vaslet is a Partner with Emerald Technology Ventures and is focused on renewable energy, energy resources and energy conversion technology investments within the clean technology sector. He currently serves on the Boards of Emergya Wind Technologies, Senscient and River Basin Energy.

Heiko von Dewitz, Investment Director with Intel Capital, is responsible for Intel Capital’s semiconductor and cleantech investment activities in Western Europe and Israel. Intel Capital, Intel’s global investment organization, makes equity investments in innovative technology start-ups and companies worldwide. As of end of March 2010, the Intel Capital investment portfolio is valued at approximately US $2 billion.

Markus Wandt is the Head of Mergers & Acquisition of RWE Innogy. RWE Innogy is the renewables division of RWE AG, one of the largest European utilities. RWE Innogy invests in excess of Eur 1bn per year in renewable energy projects.

Mr. Weiss is co-founder and a Managing Partner of Angeleno Group. Mr. Weiss oversees Angeleno Group’s investment activities in the areas of transmission and distribution infrastructure, emissions control, renewables, fuel technologies and advanced transportation.
