Wind turbine supplier REpower Systems has signed an agreement with a consortium of banks led by Bayerische Hypo- und Vereinsbank, Deutsche Bank, Dresdner Kleinwort - a brand of Commerzbank - Euler Hermes Kreditversicherungs, HSH Nordbank, and The Royal Bank of Scotland for a syndicated loan of €600m.

GE invests $1.4bn in cleantech R&D in 2008

Infrastructure, finance and media giant GE invested $1.4bn in cleaner technology research and development in 2008, up from $750m in 2005. The company has also reduced its own greenhouse gas intensity, and is making progress against its other goals for revenue growth, water and technology innovation, according to a statement.

Solyndra signs $115m solar photovoltaic supply contract with EBITSCHenergietechnik

Solyndra, Inc., a manufacturer of photovoltaic systems for commercial rooftops, has signed a new long-term sales contract with solar integrator EBITSCHenergietechnik, based in Zapfendorf, Germany. The contract, worth up to $115m, extends through 2013 and brings Solyndra's contractual backlog to approximately $1.8bn, according to the company.
