Abu Dhabi's multifaceted renewable energy initiative, Masdar and the Ministry of Energy of the Government of Alberta, Canada have signed an agreement for government-to-government cooperation on carbon capture and storage initiatives (CCS).

5 million tons per year sounds like a lot, until you get to know that one 500 MW power plant alone will release about 5 million T of CO2 per year.

Will be good to know what the total potential is for the the EOR (enhanced oil recovery) to absorb the CO2.
