Masdar and province of Alberta to partner for carbon capture and storage

Abu Dhabi's multifaceted renewable energy initiative, Masdar and the Ministry of Energy of the Government of Alberta, Canada have signed an agreement for government-to-government cooperation on carbon capture and storage initiatives (CCS).

  1. 5 million tons per year sounds like a lot, until you get to know that one 500 MW power plant alone will release about 5 million T of CO2 per year.

    Will be good to know what the total potential is for the the EOR (enhanced oil recovery) to absorb the CO2.
