US energy giant GE has won a $1.4bn contract from independent power producer Caithness Energy to supply wind turbines and provide services for an 845MW wind farm project to be located in Oregon. When completed in 2012, the Shepherds Flat development will be larger than any other wind farm currently operational in the world.
