UK power and gas company E.ON has announced plans to a biomass-fired plant in Bristol, England. The 150MW proposed Portbury Dock Renewable Energy Plant would generate enough power to supply more than 200,000 homes by burning carbon neutral wood, the company said.

Who provides the technology?
Where does E.ON plan to find a sustainable supply of feedstock for a 150MW plant? It doesn’t pencil, unless they plan to import feedstock from well beyond the 100km circle.
I think it is fantastic how we are using renewable energy and going green in so many ways. I think we also need to do things like reducing our energy usage, like installing geothermal heat pumps to replace high energy heating and cooling systems.
