TradeLink to advise Four Rivers on renewable energy

19 Jan 2011

Four Rivers BioEnergy has entered into an advisory contract with TradeLink Solutions, a specialist in obtaining accreditation from the UK energy regulator to produce renewable energy.

TradeLink has obtained accreditation for over 450 renewable projects, including working on the approval processes for at least five liquid biomass projects.

The company has also acted as adviser and negotiator for a number of power purchase agreements in the renewable energy sector, as well as operating its own trading platform for Renewable Obligation Certificates in the UK.

‘TradeLink’s extensive commercial experience will strengthen the ability of our team to negotiate attractive deals for the sale of renewable electricity, through structured power purchase agreements,’ said Stephen Padgett, Four Rivers’ CEO.

‘Their experience in hedging out appropriate levels of risk in revenue streams such as Renewable Obligation Certificates, will also add significant value.’

Four Rivers BioEnergy is focused on generating electricity from sustainable waste and renewable feedstocks. The company operates under the trade name Verta Energy.

Its business model involves vertical integration of the energy production cycle from feedstock procurement and processing to electricity generation and sale.

The company is in the final phases of completing its first waste-to-energy plant on an industrial site in the UK which it acquired in 2009.
