US biorefinery developer ZeaChem has appointed Peter Cheesbrough as CFO, bringing 30 years of experience in biotechnology, IT and mining to the company.
Cheesbrough comes to the company from Ciber, an international IT consultancy, where he served as CFO.
Prior to this, Cheebrough was CFO of Biotechnologies where he implemented a cost reduction strategy that accelerated the company’s route to market by one year.
Former CFO Andy Vietor will remain at ZeaChem as vice president of finance.
Jim Imbler, president and CEO of ZeaChem, said, ‘Time and again, [Cheesbrough] has shown the ability to lead companies through periods of robust financial growth.
‘With his addition to the team, we are better positioned for long-term growth as we move from demonstration scale to commercial biorefining.’
Cheesbrough added, ‘ZeaChem is an innovative biorefiner with a high total addressable market and executive management team with extensive experience in the energy and chemicals industries. I’m excited to build on the strong financial and technical foundation already established to create sustained commercial success.’
