US state-funded economic development initiative The Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania is to invest $1.14m in early stage companies, including $50,000 to alternative fuel company Pennsylvania Sustainable Technologies.
The investment will be used to demonstrate the feasibility of the company’s new integrated fuel synthesis process for the production of alternative fuels, the company said.
Pennsylvania Sustainable Technologies uses inedible biomass and other waste materials as feedstock, yielding long carbon chain biofuels.
BFTP/NEP is a state-funded economic development organisation that links early stage technology companies and manufacturers with experts, universities, funding and other resource.
