US Senate’s biodiesel tax credits welcomed by industry

The US Senate has approved the extension of the $1-a-gallon tax credit for biodiesel, which had expired at the end of 2009, in a move that domestic biofuel producer Renewable Energy Group (REG) has described as critical to a successful energy policy.

    Wasn’t the tax credit intended to help a fledgling industry on it’s feet? Here we are 5 years later and the industry does not exist without it.
