The former CEO of former European motorcycle manufacturer Ducati’s US division, Michael Lock, will spearhead electric vehicle developer Think’s entry into new markets as its new chief marketing officer.
Think’s CEO Richard Canny said the company is expanding its global reach to address opportunities in the US and China.
The appointment builds on recent hires to all areas of Think’s senior team, including business development, sales and service, finance and human resources.
During his seven year tenure as CEO of Ducati North America, Lock oversaw the restructuring of the company and product distribution, restoring profitability and taking sales volume and market share to record levels.
He previously also held senior positions at Honda Motor Europe, Triumph Motorcycles USA and Triumph Motorcycles UK.
Lock said he is encouraged by the initial customer response to the Think City, believing it is a solid foundation for growth as the company embarks on a focused roll out of its first urban offering, and plans for future vehicle generations.
‘Lock has an impressive track record of establishing premium brands in new markets,’ said Canny.
Think is one of the few companies that has produced a market-ready fully electric vehicle, which the company said is the first vehicle of its type to be granted pan-European regulatory safety approval and CE certification.
