The board of directors at smart energy management company GridPoint has appointed John B Spirtos as interim CEO.
Spirtos succeeds Peter L Corsell, who served as CEO since founding GridPoint in 2003 and will remain as non-executive chairman of the board while it continues its search for a permanent replacement.
Corsell, who and has chosen to step down in order to pursue other interests, said, ‘During the past few years, GridPoint has evolved into a leading provider of smart energy solutions and the company has reached a natural inflection point for a management transition. As an insider who knows the company and our markets well, John Spirtos is well positioned to take over at this time.’
John B Spirtos currently serves as executive vice president and CSO, responsible for the company’s strategic development. Before joining GridPoint, Spirtos was senior vice president of Comverse Technology and NeuStar, both of which are service providers to the communications industry.
In tandem with GridPoint’s management change, the company is continuing to realign its operational structure. Its primary focus will be on providing smart energy management solutions and renewable integration to enterprise and utility customers.
