Bio-based materials developer BioSolar has entered into a sales agreement with photovoltaic (PV) packing solutions company Tomark Industries, which will act as an agent for the distribution of its BioBacksheet.
BioSolar’s BioBacksheet claims to be the world’s first UL certified solar panel backsheet made from renewable materials, with a high thermal conductivity that enables heat to be drawn quickly from solar cells, the company said.
David Lee, CEO of BioSolar said, ‘Tomark is a recognised authority in the field of PV.
‘Tomark typically partners with reputable manufacturers to create high value, innovative products. We see them as the ideal partner for the distribution of our PV backsheet products, as well as future products under development.’
To lower the costs of this transaction on the whole, BioSolar has revised its strategic plan and has entered into partnership with manufacturers – which are currently unnamed – who are capable of producing and delivering BioBacksheet in large volumes, at low costs.
Tomark’s president, Dave Santoleri, said, ‘The combination of BioSolar’s unique green PV component design and innovation capability together with Tomark’s extensive background in developing and marketing packaging solutions for the PV market will allow our team to service the PV industry as a significant supplier.’
