US energy provider Duke Energy has selected four sites to install rooftop solar systems as part of the initial phase of the company's North Carolina distributed solar generation programme. Duke has announced plans to construct and own 10MW of solar energy capacity in the state, capable of providing electricity to approximately 1,300 homes, at an estimated cost of $50m.
