New Energy Technologies has appointed a new CEO and president in the form of National Solar Systems founder John Conklin, who has previously consulted and overseen technical efforts at global power systems heavyweights Lockheed Martin and TDI Power.
With 26 years of industrial process, renewable and alternative energy experience, Conklin will spearhead New Energy Technologies’s transition from a purely research and development-focused business to a product developer that intends to commercialise its technologies.
Meetesh Patel, former president and CEO of New Energy Technologies, said, ‘Conklin’s particular expertise in chemical surface coatings and designing solar photovoltaic and thermal energy systems will certainly be of benefit to the continued development of our SolarWindow, which makes use of special coatings that allow for the generation and movement of electricity on see-through glass.’
Patel said the company plans to unveil a working prototype of its SolarWindow, the first-of-its-kind see-through glass window capable of generating electricity, in the near future.
In addition to founding New York-based renewable energy firm National Solar Systems, Conklin founded Tellurium Associates, an industrial and environmental process design and operations consulting firm.
New Energy Technologies is a developer of next generation alternative and renewable energy technologies.
