China-based solar wafer supplier GCL-Poly Energy Holdings has secured a long-term deal to supply wafers to Nanjing-based solar cell manufacturer China Sunergy.
The companies have inked an agreement that will see GCL-Poly supply the solar cell manufacturer with close to wafers equivalent to 4.4GW in capacity, for six years.
The agreement also contains a clause for a price adjustment mechanism based on wafer market price, the companies said.
China Sunergy CEO Stephen Zhifang Cai said, ‘This agreement will strengthen our supply chain and solidify our competitive cost position in the dynamic solar industry.
‘We expect that the partnership will positively contribute to China Sunergy’s rapid growth in the global solar industry.’
