California, US-based SoloPower has appointed General Wesley Clark, former NATO Supreme Allied Commander for Europe and once Presidential candidate to its board of directors as an independent director.
Clark served with the US Army for 38 years, after which he worked as an investment banker from 2000, as well as an alternative energy leader, author, cable network television military analyst and businessman.
Tim Harris, CEO of SoloPower, said, ‘SoloPower is thrilled to welcome General Clark to our board of directors. His insights, guidance and perspective will be a valuable addition to our company as we work to make solar energy a major power source for the world’s commercial and industrial buildings.
‘As a global leader and alternative energy champion, General Clark is a perfect fit for our dedicated board, which provides critical leadership, advice and support to the SoloPower team.’
Clark added, ‘I look for energy solutions that help to address the energy and environmental challenges we face as a global community, which is what SoloPower’s lightweight, flexible photovoltaic panels do by maximising efficiency while keeping total installed costs low.
‘With growth capital in place and strong demand from the US, Japan, South Korea and Italy, among other countries, I hope to help support SoloPower’s continued global expansion.’
