I think it is great to see this kind of collaboration all aiming for the same goal, and more importantly to see that funding is taken seriously and that they stressed that “must be open to competition to be commercially viable”. More collaborations like this should be considered for the greater gain.
It will be quite interesting to see what, if any, real opportunities will be extended to the US small business community in this and other international deals. The US economy will continue to lack-luster as long as the small business manufacturers and distributors are excluded from these collaborations.
