Spending spree bolsters Apex Wind’s portfolio

22 Apr 2013

Apex Wind Energy has carried out a series of transactions buying completed wind farms and development assets in a number of US states.

The company has acquired the Mustang Wind and Hoopeston Wind projects from IPA Wind Development, through which it has the potential to support approximately 200MW of capacity in Illinois and Texas.

It has also bought a number of development sites in Ohio from Citizens Wind, with which it could develop a further 100MW, and assets in Indiana from Wind Capital Group, where it will now look to build up to 300MW.

The move comes after Apex acquired the leases and assets of the Wells Prairie Wind project, also in Indiana, from Wind Capital Group last month.

The company, which was formed in 2009, identifies suitable locations for onshore and offshore wind projects and has since its inception completed 14 acquisitions.
