US energy company We Energies has filed an application with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin, to build the Glacier Hills Wind Park in Northeast Columbia County, US, at a cost of between $340m and $530m.
The total cost of the project would depend on the size of turbines selected, according to a statement.
The wind park would consist of 90 turbines, generating up to 207 MW of electricity.
‘The Glacier Hills Wind Park is an important step toward meeting our renewable energy goals and will clearly help Wisconsin reduce its carbon footprint,’ said Andy Hesselbach, wind project manager.

Mr. Hasselbach states that “The Glacier Hills Wind Park is an important step toward meeting our renewable energy goals and will clearly help Wisconsin reduce its carbon footprint”.
Considering each turbine requires 5+ years of operation at spec to erase its “carbon footprint”, coupled with the fact that in the area of WI that these turbines are being placed allows for only 25%-28% efficiency, I question this.
If this is the best solution you have to offer, then you have no viable solution.
Wind farms are a red herring, and it’s our tax dollars that are funding this disaster.
