US Department of Energy clears Raser application for loan guarantee for geothermal power plant

Renewable energy technology company Raser Technologies, Inc. has announced today that the US Department of Energy (DOE) has approved its loan guarantee application to help finance up to 80 per cent of a $190m geothermal power project. The guaranteed loan is expected to be used for the construction of approximately 42MW of gross binary-cycle geothermal power plant capacity near the company's existing Thermo No. 1 project in Beaver County, Utah.
