McKinstry wins $5bn Department of Energy contract

US service company McKinstry became one of sixteen service companies to receive a United States Department of Energy Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) that could result in up to $80bn in energy efficiency, renewable energy and water conservation projects at federally-owned buildings and facilities.

US states propose Low Carbon Fuel Standard

Commitments have been made by 11 US states, including Massachusetts and ten other Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states, to develop a regional Low Carbon Fuel Standard in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from fuels for vehicles and other uses, according to US Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs Ian Bowles. These 11 states will work together to create a common fuel standard that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions on a technology-neutral basis.
