Millennium Private Equity (MPE), which is owned by Dubai Islamic Bank and United Gulf Bank, has invested in an Islamic bond issued by clean technology development company International Innovative Technologies (IIT), according to reports. 
Duvas Technologies, a technology provider of air pollutant monitors spun out of Imperial College in the UK, has raised £915,000 of additional equity and loan capital from existing and new shareholders. 
Nordic wind energy developer Nordisk Vindkraft has secured a deal for the sale and construction of the Ytterberg wind farm in Sweden with clean energy investor HgCapital. 
Waste-to-energy company Monsal has secured £14m in expansion capital from asset manager FourWinds Capital Management’s Water Resources Fund.

Oil major BP has bought the technology platform and two US facilities of its long-standing biofuels partner Verenium for $98.3m as it aims to increase its renewables foothold in the wake of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. 
UK-based Geothermal Engineering told NewNet it hopes to make a funding announcement in the next month, which would enable it to drill its first well at its project in Cornwall. 
Renewable power plant operator US Geothermal has acquired two underlying geothermal mineral ownership interests at the Neal Hot Springs project in the US state of Oregon, through its subsidiary USG Oregon. 
Global powerhouse Siemens said it will become shareholder in A2Sea, a supplier of installation services for the construction of offshore wind farms as it attempts to shore up its supply chain and sees future prospects as bright in its energy division. 
Germany-based Solarstrom has secured long-term financing of a photovoltaic project in the Czech Republic with state-owned banks Bayerische Landesbank and Landesbank Baden-Württemberg, through their project company Solar Stribo, equal to €50m. 
Flat Water Holdings has secured a tri-party equity deal for its 60MW wind project in the US state of Nebraska with energy company Gallop Power, project developer Gestamp Wind North America and Banco Santander. Financial terms of the partnership have not beed disclosed. 
Private equity investor Origo Partners said it will invest up to $6.65m for a 20 per cent stake in Jinan Eco-Energy Technology, a China-based provider and operator of recycling systems for waste plastic and scrap-tyres. 
IFC, a member of the Word Bank Group, has partnered with NDB Bank to share its risks in helping to finance a portfolio of renewable energy projects, including mini-hydro and wind power projects, in Sri Lanka. 
Universal Solar Technology, a developer of solar grade ingot, wafers and solar photovoltaic (PV) modules, has signed a supply deal worth more than $32m with CEZ Group, the largest electricity producer in the Czech Republic.
