China-focused growth capital firm China New Enterprise Investment has paid $11m for a stake in LED lighting application company Nanjing Handson.
Veeco has confirmed its intention to further engage in the Asian advanced lighting industry . The decision has come on the back of Veeco’s need to maintain its presence in the rapidly growing market for Light Emitting Diodes or LED’s as they are known. John Peeler, CEO, speaking at the China International Forum for Solid State Lighting, wants to help his client base speed up their market integration with the new technology 
ESB Novusmodus, a cleantech and renewable energy-focused investment fund, is to invest €2.5m in SELC, a developer of lighting controls that is looking to cash-in on a growing trend of moving towards energy efficient solutions. 
Canada-based solar technology developer Carmanah Technologies has received four standing offers totaling $1.2m from the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG), through its marine signalling partnership, Carmanah-Sabik.
