US cleantech company Chevron Energy Solutions has completed installation of photovoltaic systems with a combined capacity of 1.8MW on four schools in San Jose, California. 
Chinese photovoltaic manufacturer JinkoSolar has partnered with charity organisation Power to the People to supply solar panels to the Nyumba ya Mungu secondary school in Northern Tanzania. 
Italian renewable energy developer Enel Green Power has been awarded two of 13 lots made available by the Difesa Servizi for the allocation of military land to install photovoltaic systems. 
Chinese photovoltaic manufacturer Yingli has recorded a third quarter net loss of RMB180.5m ($22.4m), compared to a second quarter profit of RMB375.6m($59m) and a RMB556.6m ($88m) income in the same period last year. 
US company Mercury Solar Systems has completed installation on an 843kW photovoltaic (PV) roof array at the Ice House of New Jersey, the state’s largest ice rink.

US power company Duke Energy has acquired three 1MW photovoltaic plants in North Carolina from ESA Renewables for an undisclosed sum. 
French solar manufacturer Senersun has formed an agreement to acquire a stake in Chinese photovoltaic component manufacturer Shinew Photoelectonic Technology. 
Chinese photovoltaic manufacturer LDK Solar has revised down its financial forecast for the third quarter of 2011 and it now expects revenue in the range of $460m to $470m, compared to it original estimate of between $630m and $680m. 
Germany-based photovoltaic specialist SolarWorld posted a €238m revenue in the third quarter, 30 per cent down on the same period in 2010 when the figure was €342m. 
Chinese photovoltaic manufacturer JinkoSolar has updated its guidelines for the quarter ending on 30 September with shipments and revenue expected to be slightly lower than previously forecast. 
US solar company SunPower has been contracted by the US Navy to install a 13.78MW photovoltaic array at the Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake in California. 
European photovoltaic manufacturer Solon has been contracted by Green Energy 3000 to supply modules for a 5.5MW development in Scheibenberg, Germany. 
Chinese developer of thin film photovoltaic panels Astroenergy has completed installation of a 20MW solar plant in Qinghai Province, north China. 
US power company Constellation Energy has completed installation of a 6.5MW solar plant in Vineland, New Jersey.
