A lack of regulation and uncertainty as to what customers will be willing to pay for is holding back the venture capital arm of Portuguese utility EDP Renováveis from investing in smart grid technologies, its adviser said.
The growing adoption of renewable energy in the UK must be coupled with a focus on backing up power through approaching energy management in an intelligent way, an industry expert said.
