SolFocus, Empe Solar in $103m deal to install 10 MW solar projects across Spain

SolFocus has signed a $103m deal with Empe Solar to install over 10 MW of concentrator photovoltaic (CPV) solar energy projects across southern Spain by 2010. The deal aims to provide enough power for 40,000 residents.

Greenhunter Energy acquires L&L for $27.5m, expands biofuel capabilities

Greenhunter Energy has agreed to acquire marine –based diesel fuel, methanol and lubricant suppliers L&L Holdings (Louisiana), together with its wholly-owned subsidiary L&L Oil and Gas Services, for approximately $27.5m. The deal includes 17 facilities along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, including deepwater terminaling assets.

Enfinity Management opens four Spanish wind projects

Enfinity Management has completed four Spanish solar plants, the company’s first on land. The plants will produce nearly 6.5 MW, and are situated in Southern Spain: Villarobledo and Peñas de San Pedro (Albacete), El Robledo (Ciudad Real) and Alcolea del Río (Sevilla).

US solar installer SolarCity has closed a $30m investment round to aid the company’s expansion in the US. Thin film technology company First Solar invested $25m, with the remaining capital coming from venture capital firms Draper Fisher Jurvetson and DBL Investors.
