Fotowatio Renewable Ventures completes first half of MMA Renewable Ventures purchase

MMA Renewable Ventures, a subsidiary of Municipal Mortgage & Equity, has completed the first closing in the sale of substantially all of its renewable energy business. MuniMae agreed at the start of March 2009 to sell certain assets of MMA Renewable Ventures to Fotowatio Renewable Ventures. Fotowatio made an advance payment toMuniMae of $1.5m.

Californian venture capital firm Velocity Venture Capital has promoted Farid Dibachi and Henry Montgomery to general partner, according to reports. The firm, which focuses on investments in the cleantech, life sciences, software and internet sectors, has also held a first close on its third fund, which has a target of $60m.
