Clean Air Power to power Volvo Truck engines with clean fuel
5th January 2009
Clean fuel company Clean Air Power has signed an agreement to fuel Volvo Truck engines with its Dual-Fuel technology, in a bid to tackle greenhouse gas emissions, the company said.
The agreement covers the development and commercialisation of products which will be marketed and supported by Volvo Trucks.
Although work on the product development has been underway for some time, a formal contract is not expected to be drawn up before the middle of 2009. The first commercial products are expected to be available in late 2009 or early 2010.
John Pettitt, CEO of Volvo Group, said, ‘This agreement represents a major step forward in the commercialisation of Clean Air Power’s Dual-FuelTM technology. It is a testament to the quality and credibility of our technical team and the simple effectiveness of our technology. We are delighted to be working with such a forward looking global manufacturer and believe Volvo’s brand and resources will provide the ideal springboard for future sales growth. We see this as a very significant milestone which has now been successfully achieved.’
