Kent BioEnergy Corporation appoints Barry Toyonaga as chief business officer

Microalgae producer Kent BioEnergy Corporation has appointed Barry Toyonaga as chief business officer. He will be responsible for the company’s biofuel and renewable technology assets.

Jack Van Olst, president of the company, said, ‘We are extremely pleased to have an executive of Barry’s calibre lead our overall corporate development strategy. His breadth of experience, expansive intellect and impressive track record qualify him well for this role at Kent BioEnergy. I am confident Barry will engage us with optimal strategic partners who are essential for the commercialisation of our technology’s immediate application to the production of bioenergy and liquid fuels. This pursuit and those ralted to applications beyond it will dramatically enhance Kent BioEnergy’s value.’

Dr Toyonaga spent the past 20 years working with technology-rich companies covering biotech, high tech and pharmaceuticals. He has held management positions in biotechnology companies, as well as within Johnson and Johnson and was most recently a partner at Ventana Capital.
