27 November 2008

The Acjachemen Nation, otherwise known as the Juaneno Band of Mission Indians, has established a joint venture between alternative fuel company AN Group and waste energy manufacturer Waste-to-Energy Group, called ANEW, committed to renewable energy initiatives.

A spokesperson for ANEW said, ‘This day we announce a new day. ANEW day! From this day forward we are persistent in our pursuit to battle the pollutants that sicken the gift we call “Mother Earth”. Through a platform of cooperation with other Native American Tribes, ANEW will be steadfast in cleansing our planet of waste products while providing a clean renewable source of energy.’

The speech called for an end to the dependence on fossil fuels and the commitment to utilising technologies to provide a new resource for environmentally friendly power and biofuels.

‘Inherent in all Native Americans as well as a significant part of spirituality is our stewardship of our planet and natural resources. For too long have we sat idly by while the future of our children is compromised’, the spokesperson concluded.
