Valero Renewables closes Jefferson ethanol plant purchase

San Antonio, US-based bioethanol company Valero Renewable Fuels, a wholly owned subsidiary of NYSE-listed Valero Energy Corporation, has closed on its $72m purchase of the All Fuels - Jefferson, an ethanol plant from Renew Energy.
The plant, located near Jefferson, Wisconsin, has an annual production capacity of 110 million gallons. The close follows All Fuels - Jefferson’s recent agreement to Valero’s $100m offer price for the purchase.
The purchase gives Valero Renewables a total of ten ethanol plants with a combined production capacity of 1.1 billion gallons per year, making it one of the nation’s largest ethanol producers.
Valero Energy Corporation is a Fortune 500 company based in San Antonio, US, which owns or operates 15 refineries with a combined throughput capacity of approximately 2.8 million barrels per day. Valero has ten ethanol plants in the Midwest with a combined capacity of 1.1 billion gallons per year, with approximately 5,800 retail and branded wholesale outlets in the US, Canada and the Caribbean under the Valero, Diamond Shamrock, Shamrock, Ultramar and Beacon brands.
