Capricorn Venture Partners adds to cleantech investment team

Capricorn Venture Partners investment team has appointed Dr Ir Johan Reynaert as investment manager for its Capricorn Cleantech Fund.

Dr Jos Peeters, managing partner, Capricorn, said, ‘We are delighted to welcome Johan as investment manager at Capricorn Venture Partners. He brings complementary experience and insights to the team, and his presence should allow us to broaden further the cleantech subsectors in which we make investments.’

As an international business development Manager at IMEC, Reynaert gained international experience in the photovoltaic and semiconductor industry.

Capricorn Venture Partners is a pan-European manager of venture capital funds seeking to invest in technology-based growth companies and is investing out of its € 112m in Capricorn Cleantech Fund.

The Cleantech Fund invests in European growth companies developing innovative breakthrough technologies in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency, water purification and re-use, bio based material conversion and biorefinery platforms, clean air, climate change, green chemistry and advanced materials, materials recovery and recycling.

Currently, the Capricorn Health-tech Fund is raising €100m to €120m venture capital for a new fund focusing on early to mid stage human health-technology investments in Europe and will be Capricorn’s fourth consecutive venture capital fund.
