The US Florida Energy and Climate Commission will invest $36m in clean energy projects through a newly-unveiled investment scheme.
Projects in the state will receive direct investment under the initiative in order to enhance energy efficiency through measures such as the development of energy efficient products and the acquisition of renewable energy products.
The Commission’s Renewable Energy Technologies grant programme was originally established in 2006 under the Florida Renewable Energy Technologies & Energy Efficiency Act to provide renewable energy matching grants for demonstration, commercialisation, research and development projects relating to renewable energy technologies.
The scheme was designed to stimulate capital investment in the state as well as promote and enhance the statewide utilisation of renewable energy technologies.
