Future Capital Partners, a £6bn alternative investment boutique, has appointed Esther Lewis as business development manager.

The latest in a string of new additions to an enhanced business development team over the last quarter, Lewis will report to Piers Denne, recently hired to take on an expanded head of sales and marketing role.

The firm said the strengthened team will drive the marketing campaign for its range of investment products, including the recently launched Future Fuels, an investment partnership that will fund and build a renewable transport fuel plant in the north of England that the firm expects to yield returns of over 30 per cent per annum over a five to seven year period.

Lewis, who has a wealth of experience in the hedge fund and alternative investment industries, will focus on building strong working relationships with both clients and intermediaries while also contributing to business development and client liaisons, said Future Capital Partners. She joins the firm from Unicorn Investments, where she was manager of business development and was responsible for client relationships of the Unicorn Fund of Fund in the UK, Netherlands, Spain and Gibraltar.

Lewis also previously worked in the banking and capital market division of PricewaterhouseCoopers in London for three years alongside Man Group, Barclays Capital and JP Morgan.

Head of sales and marketing at Future Capital Partners, Piers Denne, said, ‘Bringing Esther in to join our rapidly growing business development team is further indication of Future Capital Partner’s expansive growth plan. Esther’s experience in the alternative investment and private wealth arenas give her an ideal background to market our products to an audience of sophisticated, high net worth investors.’

Future Capital Partners specialises in alternative investments such as renewable energy, international property, healthcare and media and entertainment. The firm has completed transactions and made investments worth in excess of £6bn since 2000. Its current product offerings include Apex Real Estate Partners and Omega Design & Build Partners, Dean Street Productions and Future Fuels, funding the construction of a wheat-to-bio-ethanol plant in the UK. Future Capital Partners also owns investments in other industry groups including Novia Financial, Aramid Capital Partners.
