Netherlands-based GreenPeak Technologies has completed a Series B financing round totalling $19m of venture funding. The round was led by European investor Gimv and Robert Bosch Venture Capital and supported by DFJ Esprit, Motorola Ventures and Allegro Investment Fund.
GreenPeak is a semiconductor company offering ultra low power wireless and battery-free data communication technologies for consumer electronics and sense and control applications.
Cees Links, CEO for GreenPeak Technologie, said, ‘Securing new funding in this challenging financial climate shows the market potential of GreenPeak’s technology and applications. With this funding the company will be able to expand its distribution channels and ramp volume.’
As part of the deal, Dr Claus Schmidt, managing director with Robert Bosch Venture Capital, will join the GreenPeak board of directors. He said, ‘GreenPeak has impressed us with their clear market vision as an innovator in the wireless and battery-free sense and control networks. I see their potential and their technology lead.’

DFJ Esprit is a cross-stage venture capital firm that invests in European technology and media companies. They are the European partner of the global network of venture funds Draper Fisher Jurvetson, the largest such network in the world with $6bn under management.
Robert Bosch Venture Capital is one of the largest private companies worldwide with more than $60bn of sales in 2008. Founded in 1886, Bosch is a global supplier of automotive, industrial technology, consumer goods and building technology.
Gimv is a European investment company that undertakes buyouts and provides growth capital to established companies. They make venture capital investments in high tech sectors through its specialist teams in life sciences, technology and cleantech.
