US-based solid state storage company SolidFire has closed its first round of venture capital funding, led by Valhalla Partners and Novak Biddle Venture Partners.
The company said its technology makes the energy efficiency advantages of solid state storage available at a price comparable with that of conventional spinning disk storage.
Valhalla General Partner Charles Curran and Novak Biddle General Partner Phil Bronner have been named to the company’s board, in addition to Atlanta entrepreneur Greg Foster, who has joined its board of advisers.
The company said its architecture has been designed to optimise the performance of solid state storage to provide a significant increase in performance and capacity per storage dollar spent.
