London-based private equity firm Foursome Investments reinvents itself as Frog Capital

Frog Capital, a London-based European investment firm that focuses on cleantech and ICT, has launched itself under a new name following an expansion of its funds under management, and appointed a new managing partner, Mike Reid, from 3i’s Growth Capital team.

Frog was formerly known as Foursome Investments and was founded by a family office representing the Engelhorn family.

Frog Capital has increased its funds available for investment from €60m to €100m. The firm currently has six cleantech companies in its portfolio and is looking to lead or work in partnership on deals between €2m to €20m.

Reid said, ‘Be hungry to invest when others are fearful, we are told. At Frog Capital, we are doing exactly that. The funds are being raised to €100m, we are hiring some great new people and we are optimistic about the future. We have a strong backer in the family that has financed us, with a long-term vision that we all share.’
