Green buildings-focused private equity firm Navitas Capital is targeting a first closing on of its debut fund in early 2009, according to the firm’s managing partner and co-founder Jim Petit.
The firm is hoping for a first closing between $10m and $20m, with a second close anticipated later in 2009.
‘While the current climate is very difficult to be out raising funds, we have seen solid interest in our cleantech investment thesis,’ Jim Petitt of Navitas Capital commented.
A key investor, Webcor Builders, recently committed to the fund as an LP.
