Venture-backed hybrid car company Fisker opens engineering and development centre

Green car company Fisker Automotive has opened a new engineering and development centre in Michigan, US. The 34,000 square foot facility will house up to 200 engineers and designers, who will support the development and production programme of Fisker’s first hybrid car, the Fisker Karma.
Fisker previously received backing from venture capital firms Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Palo Alto Investors and QIA.
Fisker’s annual production is projected to reach 15,000 vehicles by 2011, according to the company.
