Ascent Solar announces retirement of Dr Prem Nath

Ascent Solar Technologies, a developer of flexible thin-film photovoltaic modules, today announced that senior vice president of production operations, Dr Prem Nath is to retire. Dr. Nath has led the company’s manufacturing efforts since 2006 and helped establish the company’s roll-to-roll commercial production capability.

Ascent Solar President and CEO Farhad Moghadam said, ‘Dr Nath’s track record speaks for itself and he has laid a superb foundation for this company to continue to scale its manufacturing capability and capacity. We thank Dr Nath for his extraordinary service and innovative efforts while at Ascent Solar. Building on this foundation, the team at Ascent Solar will now pursue high volume commercial manufacturing, the next phase of growth for our company.’

Dr Nath has spent over 30 years in the thin-film industry. While at Ascent Solar, he successfully led the company to reach full end-to-end commercial production on FAB 1 in Littleton, Colorado, which positions Ascent Solar to ramp to high volume production on FAB 2 located in Thornton, Colorado.

Dr Nath said, ‘I am very proud of our company’s accomplishments over the past several years. In 2006 the company was based on research and development tools. Today Ascent Solar has reached commercial production and is now ready to ramp to volume.’
