ET Solar’s German plant powers grid

5 July 2010

China-based photovoltaic (PV) developer ET Solar Group has connected a 1.9MW ground mounted PV power plant to the grid in eastern Germany.

Located in Katharinenrieth in Saxony-Anhalt, the plant was fully connected to a grid managed by grid operator Envia Netz in the final week of June.

ET Solar designed and managed the entire construction of the project with ET Solar’s China manufacturing plant being the PV module supplier.

The plant is expected to generate around 36 million KWh over a 20-year subsidy period and is expected to have a life-span of 30 years.

Renewable energy investment trust Wattner is the sole equity investor of the project via its publicly raised SunAsset fund.

Dennis She, ET Solar’s president, said, ‘Following the 1.5MW power plant that we, as EPC contractor, delivered to Wattner last December, this project further solidified our track record in providing turnkey solutions to our customers and enhanced the bankability of our module products especially when it was project financed by DKB.’
