Solyndra files registration statement for IPO

Mounted photovoltaic manufacturer Solyndra has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) relating to the proposed initial public offering of its common stock.

The joint book-running managers of the proposed offering will be Goldman, Sachs & Co and Morgan Stanley & Co.

Headquartered in Fremont, California, Solyndra designs and manufactures photovoltaic systems, comprised of panels and mounts, for the commercial rooftop market.

Earlier this month, Solyndra signed a new long-term framework agreement with alwitra & Co, a supplier of roofing systems, based in Trier, Germany.

Last month, the company received a $105m order from Italian solar integrator Sun System, to be delivered over several years and used in rooftop solar developments in Europe.
