US private equity firm Haywood Dorland Energy Capital invests in solar power company SolFocus

US private equity firm Haywood Dorland Energy Capital announced that it has completed an indirect equity investment in SolFocus, a California-based developer of concentrator photovoltaic solar power technology. Financial details were not disclosed.
‘SolFocus has developed leading concentrator photovoltaic (CPV) solar panel technology which combines high-efficiency solar cells (approaching 40 per cent) and advanced optics to provide solar energy solutions which are scalable, dependable and capable of delivering on the promise of clean, low-cost, solar energy,’ said Steven Pottle, the managing principal of Haywood Dorland Energy Capital.
Haywood Dorland Energy Capital is a private equity firm that invests exclusively in renewable energy companies that pursue technology such as wind, solar, biomass, cellulosic ethanol, power storage and landfill gas.
SolFocus is a leading developer of CPV solar panel technology that has previously received funding from New Enterprise Associates, NGEN Partners and Yellowstone Capital, Inc.
In April of this year, SolFocus completed its expanded solar glass reflector manufacturing factory in Mesa, Arizona, in the US.
