US solar company Evergreen Solar appoints Michael McCarthy director of investor relations

US solar technology company Evergreen Solar, Inc. has appointed Michael McCarthy to the newly created position of director of investor relations. He will report to Michael El-Hillow, CFO.

Prior to joining Evergreen Solar, McCarthy held similar roles at Brooks Automation and Photronics, Inc.
‘Evergreen’s presence within the global investment community is growing, as is our need for a seasoned investor relations executive to lead this important function. Mike’s extensive experience with publicly traded global technology companies, their relationships with the investment community, and intimate understanding of the capital markets brings additional credibility to all our communications initiatives that reach these important audiences,’ said El-Hillow.

In May of this year, Evergreen Solar initiated a $60m public offering of its common stock.
