US start-up Greenray Solar appoints Mark Goodreau to lead global sales strategy

7 April 2010

US solar start-up GreenRay Solar has appointed Mark Goodreau as vice president of sales and business development to lead the company’s global strategy and execution.

GreenRay said it hired Goodreau to drive the sales growth of its module systems through solar dealers including photovoltaic system installers, roofers, electrical contractors, retailers, and others emerging channels. Goodreau will also be responsible for developing relationships with module manufacturers, electric utilities and other strategic partners to deliver fully integrated AC module solutions.

Prior to joining GreenRay, Goodreau spent four years in the photovoltaic (PV) industry, most recently as president of Gloria Spire Solar during its formation and development, which is a joint venture between solar industry pioneer Spire and Taiwanese module manufacturer Gloria Solar. He also previously worked at Spire as general manager of the solar systems business unit.

Bringing 20 years of experience with technology companies, Goodreau has also held senior marketing and business development roles at Hasbro Interactive and PictureTel. He began his career in the semiconductor industry with Texas Instruments.

‘Mark brings tremendous experience and industry knowledge to the company, and we are very excited to have him leading our efforts to build strategic business relationships,’ said Miles Russell, CEO of Greenray. ‘As we head into market launch of the SunSine AC Module, Mark is in the prime position to help drive our success.’

GreenRay’s SunSine AC module integrates the separate components found in typical photovoltaic systems such as the PV panel, grid tie inverter, mounting hardware and wiring, into a single package, said the company. Each module creates a power supply through using a micro inverter to convert sunlight into AC electricity.

GreenRay said it will launch its patented AC module system mid-2010.
