German based water technology and solutions firm Triton Water has appointed Siemens Water Europe’s Frank Koll as the new CEO, the announcement coincides with the successful merger of its two companies, according to a statement.

Koll was most recently vice president and head of Siemens Water Europe. He was cited for executing the successful turnaround as acting managing director of wastewater subsidiary Siemens WABAG Vienna, and as well , managed the successful acquisition of water technology company USFiliter by Siemens in 2004.

Triton further regarded the merger of its group companies as a major milestone towards the development of itself becoming a market leading mid-sized company in the water and wastewater treatment sector.

Frank Toll, CEO, Triton Water said, ‘The company will offer a one-stop shop for the design, construction, commission and service of industrial and maritime water treatment systems. The integration of the individual companies combines state of the art technologies and expertise, targeting cross-industry water management problems and applications and resulting in greater value for Triton Water’s customers.’

These announcements follow a financing round led by cleantech investor zouk ventures in February 2009. A series of strategic objectives were developed which would hope to transform the company into an integrated solutions provider. The completion of this merger, coupled with the appointment of Koll as new CEO, was the first of these strategic objectives, according to the statement.

Felix von Schubert, partner at zouk ventures, said ‘We are particularly impressed by the comprehensive technology offering and the significance of this model for accessing clients in the water mid-market.’

Triton Water was founded in 1851 and is based in Norderstedt/Hamburg, Germany. According to their website, the company provides a broad engineering and system competence for their customers’ highly complex applications.
