China will install up to 2,001MW of renewable power through the use of wind and hydropower stations in a bid to boost the economy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, according to reports.
The National Development and Reform Commission said power stations are planned in the provinces of Sichuan, Guizhou, Jiangsu and Hebei in a move that is set to cost $35bn. This latest project is part of the government’s $585bn stimulus plan to improve the economy.
