enXco, an EDF Energies Nouvelles company, and US energy utility MidAmerican Energy Company have announced the commissioning of the 102 turbines of the 153MW Walnut Wind Farm.
enXco Development Corporation began construction of the Walnut Wind Project, located in Pottawattamie County, Iowa, in June 2008. MidAmerican Energy Company and enXco then agreed to expand the project from 100.5MW to the current 153MW. The project, owned by MEC, represents the fifth project built for the group for a total of 595MW.
‘The Walnut Wind Project serves as another example of the solid working relationship between MEC and enXco, and the fast pace the two organisations can bring projects to successful completion. The expansion occurred under similar circumstances to our Pomeroy Project and demonstrated the ability of both organisations to quickly adapt to change,’ said Tristan Grimbert, president and CEO of enXco.
enXco develops, constructs, operates and manages renewable energy projects throughout the US. enXco’s portfolio also includes solar and biomass technologies.
