SkyPower Corp receives commercial designation for Newfoundland wind project

SkyPower Corp, a US-based energy company, has received certification for its 27MW wind power project in Newfoundland.

The commercial in-service certification was granted by Newfoundland Labrador Hydro, a Nalcor Energy company.

‘No one is more important than our stakeholders and that relationship is evident in the warm acceptance we continue to receive for the project from Fermeuse and neighbouring communities,’ said Kerry Adler, CEO of SkyPower. ‘The in-service certification officially commemorates commercial operation, and allows SkyPower to generate a brighter future for our eastern stakeholders.’

The project, consisting of nine 3MW Vestas wind turbines, is expected to generate enough power for approximately 7,000 homes.
