Wind company OwnEnergy hires two new additions

22 May 2009

OwnEnergy, a wind development company, has hired two new team members.

Ray Henger joins as finance director to lead efforts that encompass corporate project finance. Henger was previously a managing director in Credit Suisse’s US power and renewables group.

Jacob Susman, OwnEnergy’s CEO, said, ‘Ray’s joining the team further cements OwnEnergy among the most finance-savvy wind IPPS. And as a Texas native from a ranching family, Ray identifies with our local partners and will lock arms with them to build long term, profitable wind farms that supplement their current income.’

Chip Readling also joins OwnEnergy as a senior project manager and is responsible for the development of projects across the Midwestern US. Readling is involved in all aspects of wind farm development, from building local partner relationships through project permitting, construction and interconnection. Prior to OwnEnergy, he spent four years with Noble Environmental Power, where he was director of development for a five-state region and involved in over 900 MW of wind projects.

‘Chip is a great addition to the team, bringing direct, successful development expertise across the entire development cycle,’ said Cindy Crooks, OwnEnergy’s development director.

On top of making additions to the team, OwnEnergy recently closed an addition to its Series A round from two new investors; Clearpoint Ventures and GoGreen Capital.

Tucker Twitmyer, managing partner of EnerTech Capital and a member of OwnEnergy’s board, added, ‘We are thrilled with OwnEnergy’s continued ability to reinforce its team with the industry’s top talent while strengthening its balance sheet. The company is nicely poised for leadership as the wind industry resumes its rapid expansion.’
